Trilogy Trifecta
This is the last film in the Trilogy so if you haven't seen the first two films, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire, then you shouldn't read this review since it will spoil them. If you have seen the first two then you'll be happy to know the third doesn't disappoint like so many other movie trilogies have before. No one needs another sad debacle like the end of Lord of the Rings where Samwise and Frodo almost start making out after calling each others names lovingly and softly for twenty minutes (Let it go it's over!). The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest does a fantastic job of having it's own story and yet manages to integrate and resolve unfinished issues from the other movies. The heart of this last film takes place in a court room and revolves around Lisbeth's confrontation with her father in the second film and whether her intentions were attempted murder or self defense. Also called into issue is the original and continuing theme of her mental stability and if she is competent. It plays out almost like one of the better episodes of Law and Order and makes for quite an exciting courtroom drama. Matching the drama of the courtroom is Mikael's attempt Lisbeth from the outside by finishing an article on her and all she's been though including the high level conspiracy that ruined her life. As Mikael and his magazine get closer to publishing, threats and intimidation ensue from those involved in the conspiracy. I can't say more without ruining the best details, but I can say it's a great end to the trilogy and if you are a fan you won't be disappointed. Enjoy.
