Product Review: Haier HLP21N Pulsator 1 Cubic Foot Clothes Washer

My Big Fat Review

Save Your Quarters For The Arcade

I bought my wife one of these washers a couple of years ago so she could easily do felting for her knitting projects. With our budget being tighter in the last year or so we've begun using it more and more for it's intended purpose, washing clothes. My wife really loves the Haier and for good reason. One it saves her having to drag laundry down and back from the laundry room. Secondly no quarters and third it works really well. True at 1 cubic foot you won't be able to pack a bunch of laundry in at once, but if you break your laundry up over the week it's not really an issue. Ideally this washer is best suited for lighter clothes (i.e. sock, t-shirts, underwear, etc.). I've found any items that get heavy when wet (i.e. towels, jeans, etc.) will wobble the machine too much causing it to automatically stop. The big benefits of the Haier are it's size. Ours fits nicely in the corner of our master bathroom and hooks up to the sink via the supplied adapter. The Haier is also great if you just need to wash and item or two for the next day instead of a whole load. In the end this a great little machine and fits a variety of needs from a single person who uses it as their regular machine to a family who uses it in pinch or for smaller items through out the week. I've figured for my family, of three, it's taken about a year and half to break even from the initial cost of the machine and the quarters we've save by not having to use the laundry room as much.
