More Than Just A Pretty Face...
...the Mythos One has substance. With hand-polished aircraft-grade enclosures, proprietary damping technologies, two high-definition 5-1/4" drivers pressure-coupled to two 5-1/4" planar Low-Bass Radiators and a 1" Ceramic–coated Pure Aluminum dome tweeter with an acoustically contoured faceplate for incredible high frequency extension, detail and smoothness the Mythos One can run with the big boys. By big boys I'm talking my Monitor Audio GS60's with Radius 225 surrounds. I run a Mythos One as center channel in my 7.1 setup and I have to say I'm extremely happy with it. I wouldn't normally run a mixed setup, but I've been so pleased by the performance of the Mythos One that there's no need to replace it. Sound quality is clear and crisp, with wide range, and fantastic bass. I realize I'm not getting the most out of the Mythos as a center, but all you'll find is shining reviews of these babies from those using them as mains. Indeed you'll be hard pressed to find any bad reviews of the Mythos Ones. Definitive's exclusive Planar Technology Pressure Driven Bass Radiators enhance low frequency response and the Linkwitz-Riley Crossover Networks to more perfectly blend the drivers into a seamless audio environment. In short there's a lot tech packed into these puppies and the end result is some amazing sound. Conclusion: if you've got the extra three grand or you're an audiophile get yourself some Monitor Audio GS60's, but if you're tight on cash and still want amazing sound the Mythos Ones are the way to go. In the end there's nothing else in the Mytho's price range that really compares.
