Big Fat Movie Review
Funny, Witty & Exciting...
...sorry it's not your blind date. The good news is it's a great movie you can spend Friday night with and it won't disappoint. Red was more than I expected. The premise is pretty straight forward. A retired CIA black ops agent (Bruce Willis) has a hit called on him. By whom and why is the question. To find the out why Willis recruits members of his old team, a group of slightly off misfits trying to fit in to the world again. The action scenes in the movie were excellent, but not overbearing and the humor was sublime and well thought out. Malkovich is amazingly hilarious as a more than whacked out, paranoid ex-agent, especially when he gets out the pig. Bruce Willis is of course great as usual, but I found he brought more warmth to his usual super action hero guy character. I won't bore you with every little detail, but I will say all the characters were well crafted in this film. Overall it's a solid plot, with well made and acted characters and just the right mix of action and comedy. Enjoy.
