Big Fat Film Review
Somebody's Getting Robbed
And most likely you'll feel it's you after watching this film. I'm not sure how you get a group of great comedic actors like Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick, and more to sign on to such a lackluster film. I was so disappointed with this movie, especially since Broderick is one of my favorite actors. The entire film just kind of falls flat and the first half is so stale that watching lint is more entertaining. The acting is of course solid, but the premise of the film takes way to long to evolve and most of the time there is simply nothing to laugh at. This is one of those films were most of the funny bits were covered in the trailer. That's all you really need to know. The story is fairly simple a group of maids, concierges and doormen working at a highrise try to get their hard earned money back from the man living in the Penthouse (Alan Alda) who ripped them off through a Ponzi scheme. That's about it. It's not very funny and if you've seen the trailer you've seen the movie so save your dollars and watch something really funny like The Producers or Delhi Belly.
