Hot Diggity! Best Hot Dogs In Philly!

My Big Fat Dog

More Then Just Dogs

Sadly Hot Diggity closed it doors a few years back :(

A friend took me to Hot Diggity this last week and I was completely blown away by their food.  These aren't just some cheap dog with stuff thrown on them.  These are artisan hot dogs with top quality ingredients made by a gourmet chef who has a passion for good food and flavor.  There's a variety of wild sounding dogs to choose from.  I had the Seattle Grunge covered in garlic, cream cheese, green onions, tomatoes, and onions.  I also, after being amazed by the flavor of the Seattle Grunge, tried the Big Kahuna.  Loaded with guava mustard, grilled onions, pineapple salsa, and spicy (orange) habanero aioli the Big Kahuna was no slouch.  I usually don't care for spicy and sweet mixes, but Hot Diggity knows how to balance those flavors together and I was very impressed.  The other thing that shouldn't be over looked is the quality of the hot dogs used.  These aren't cheap grocery store dogs, these are premium dogs that on there own are amazingly tasty.  The dogs are just the beginning of delights though.  Hot Diggity also makes what are most likely the best fries on the planet.  Twice fried, big and crispy these golden brown fries are beyond reproach.  Complimenting these awe inspiring fires are an assortment of dipping sauces, about a dozen that are made daily at Hot Diggity.  With dozens to choose from the two that stuck in my mind were the Pepper Ranch (very rich, very peppery) and the Sriracha Ketchup (just the right amount of spicy).  The flavors rotate daily so you have an excuse to go back every day.  If that is not enough they also carry an assortment of hand crafted sodas, some of which they make right there.   Most impressive out of the three I tried was the Lime-Cilantro-Jalapeno soda, who woulda thunk right.  The other two Watermelon-Basil soda and Raspberry-Kombucha soda were also tongue tinglingly delicious.  So if you live in Philly or are just visiting make sure you stop by Hot Diggity they've got what you need.  Check out there menu here:  www.thehotdiggity.com.
