What's wrong with this country. That's simple, we've become a plutocracy. Essentially a government run by the rich or more accurately ran by those individuals and corporations wealthy enough to buy politicians and corrupt the democratic situation to bend laws and legislation to their gain and inevitably the detriment of all of those that are not in the top 1%. That would be you and me. This explains a lot about what is going on in Wisconsin with politicians going after unions and the hard working Americans behind unions that are simply trying to make a decent wage to support their families. It's insane that at a time when average Americans are suffering record unemployment levels and losing their homes, while at the same time the elite are getting richer, that politicians would squeeze workers for more money instead of doing something reasonable like cutting some of the tax breaks that corporations and the uber-rich enjoy. It makes sense though when you realize that those same politicians are receiving huge campaign contributions from the rich as well as cushy, well paid jobs at those same companies after their political stint of screwing over the middle class. Politicians and greedy mega corporations will try to tell you that you should blame the unions for your suffering because they make a better wage than you. It's a great tactic to divert focus from the real problem of a government corrupted by money and bribes. Multi-Billion dollar bailouts, with your tax money, for the idiots that got us into this mess. While at the same time the rich are getting richer. The reality is that any union is simply a group of average Americans, like you and me, trying to get a fair wage and level the playing field in a corrupt government ran by the mega rich. A union is for the people and by the people. So if you feel you don't get paid enough than you should support your local union, join your local union, defend your local union and not get fooled into blaming them for what our plutocratic government has done. Support yourself, support your family, support American workers.
