TV Review: Lie To Me

Big Fat TV Review

It's Really Good and That's The Truth

This is one of those shows that I just got around to watching. I'm a few episodes into the first of three seasons and I'm really liking it so far. Tim Roth plays Dr. Cal Lightman an expert in reading suspects through bodily and facial expression. He runs a consultation service that is hired by various law enforcement agencies and private individuals on particularly difficult cases. Overall the show has a Mentalist kind of feel to it, but based on science and it's a little lighter on the parlour tricks. The acting is a little bit better and the show doesn't have as much goofiness either. Something my sister will appreciate, and also similar to The Mentalist, is there is no gory slice and dice autopsies like in CSI and so many other detective shows. It's a very enjoyable show. Just be cautious that you don't start analyzing everybody at your job.
