OH, YOU DON'T HAVE IT YET?
Well there are probably only two reasons for that.
1.) You don't love first person shooters.
2.) You don't love first person shooters.
Because if you love first person shooters, you would love
this game. No matter how much you deny it, YOU WOULD LOVE THIS GAME.
Especially on the computer, since the maximum size of a
round is 64 people... CAN YOU EVEN COMPREHEND THAT RIGHT NOW!? 64 PEOPLE! Which
mainly translates to: if you stand out in the open like an idiot, you WILL get
shot... teaching basic common sense battle tactics.
On the console versions the maximum player size is a meager
24... that's only 3 groups of 4 versus another 3 groups of 4. As opposed to the
computer version of 8 groups of 4 versus 8 groups of 4. The maps even have to
be reduced in size to accommodate the much fewer players on the console
versions.
The core mechanics of the game are still there for the console
therefore I don't doubt the they are still fun. It's just kind of a
bummer knowing you can have SO MANY MORE PEOPLE playing on the PC and you can't join in.
With all the little subtleties the game adds, from the
use of bipods, to the seamless gliding over obstacles reminiscent of parkour BF3 plays better then other shooters and that's what makes it so
good.
It's just a shame that with the scale available and the
tools provided that the campaign is SO linear. With the previous games campaign
(Bad Company 2) at least at times you'd be blowing through walls for short
cuts, etc. In this campaign it just feels like a Call of Duty campaign, except
Call of Duty does a better job in that department.
The Co-op mode is so disappointing I won't even mention it.
Just don't expect much.
The Multiplayer is the obvious appeal of this game, and THAT
doesn't disappoint.
But you will need to start getting Map Packs (same as any
modern shooter) to get the full experience.
